For strawberry picking: Check in with the market. The Strawberries are $5.99 a pound to pick your own, or $6.99 prepicked. The market will provide a 4qt BUSKET (basket bucket!) that holds 4 to 5 pounds. We charge $1.00 for the busket, and you will keep it. This is an aeriated container so that your berries can stay fresh. You will put your busket with the berries in the refrigerator. Do not wash the berries until you get ready to eat them. They will last longer if they are unwashed, with their green caps on and in an open aeriated container.
Be sure to pick ALL RED berries. Any white or green on the berries are unripe and they will be sour. The sweetest berries come from sunshine, and not rainy days. Do not walk back and forth over the plants, stay in the row. After picking please go to the market or an outside cashier to weigh and pay. Please put your name on your busket and bring it back for any pick your own so that you do not have to purchase another!
THERE IS NEVER AN ADMISSION TO THE PICK-YOUR-OWN FIELDS, you just pay for what you pick. All produce is sold by-the-pound. (The only admission area is The Family Playgrounds where the farm animals are, additional picnic areas, hay barn, play equipment, event barns. This area is $6.00 plus tax, per person, age 2 and under free.
PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED, BY LAW, IN THE FRONT PICK-YOUR-OWN produce patches. They must stay on the grassy areas. You are welcome to bring your dog on a leash and pick up after them, in the other areas of our farm. We prefer the dog NOT come into the market if the market is busy and full of customers. We would be glad to assist you to walk around the market to the Family Playgrounds.
We accept cash, check, and credit card!
