Pick Your Own
The PICK YOUR OWN fields are open every day of the week from 9am-5pm. You do not need to call ahead or need reservations. There is no admission to the PYO fields, you just pay for what you pick. NO EATING ALLOWED IN THE FIELDS. NO PETS ALLOWED IN THE PRODUCE PATCHES, BY LAW. (See produce schedule below)
YEAR ROUND SCHEDULE OF CROPS:
APRIL
STRAWBERRIES will be ready around late April and last through May. Sometimes they linger into June depending on the excessive heat.
ASPARAGUS… we have pre-picked asparagus in the Market! Asparagus is the only crop we grow that is NOT pick-your-own. We also have SWEET POTATOES, Baking Potatoes, onions and Apples in the Market
Lettuce, arugula, mustard greens, kale, collards.
MAY OPEN MOTHERS DAY AND MEMORIAL DAY! OPEN DAILY 9-6

Beginning of June may still have some strawberries, depending on the heat. Raspberries, Swiss Chard, Cabbage, Beets, Carrots, Spinach, Lettuce, Kale, Collards, Broccoli, Asparagus, Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts, Arugula, Mustard Greens, Bok Choy, cress, daikon radish, sugar snap peas and flat peas, green beans-bush beans
Sweet Peppers, hot peppers, Tomatoes, Eggplants, Cucumber, Chinese Turnips, Okra, Zucchini, Yellow Squash, BLUEBERRIES, BLACKBERRIES, Flowers, Sunflowers

JULY THROUGH SEPTEMBER
BLACKBERRIES, RASPBERRIES, BLUEBERRIES, BLACK RASPBERRIES, BEETS, CARROTS, PEPPERS, SQUASH, TOMATOES, EGGPLANT, ZUCCHINI, GREEN BEANS, CUT FLOWERS, SUNFLOWERS, CUCUMBERS, CONCORD GRAPES, WATERMELON, CANTALOUPE, We will also have Peaches and corn in the market.

OCTOBER and NOVEMBER until hard frost

DECEMBER through about April 1
WINTER crops to pick are Arugula, Kale, Collards, Cabbage, Mustard Greens, Kohlrabi, Spinach, Brussel Sprouts, Beets, Turnips, Cauliflower, Broccoli, and Carrots.
ABSOLUTELY NO EATING IN THE FIELDS, per the Virginia Department of Agriculture.
¨ No pets in the produce patches, and no row jumping/walking across the plants. Stay in your picking rows. Keep children with you at all times.
THERE IS NEVER AN ADMISSION TO THE PICK-YOUR-OWN FIELDS, you just pay for what you pick. All produce is sold by-the-pound. (The only admission area is The Family Playgrounds where the farm animals are, additional picnic areas, hay barn, play equipment, event barns. This area is $6.00 plus tax, per person, age 2 and under free.
FYI: PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED, BY LAW, IN THE FRONT PICK-YOUR-OWN produce patches. They must stay on the grassy areas. You are welcome to bring your dog on a leash and pick up after them, in the other areas of our farm. We prefer the dog NOT come into the market if the market is busy and full of customers. We would be glad to assist you to walk around the market to the Family Playgrounds. And remember, we have free range chickens!
